Chocolate Cake Remake

This 5-minute chocolate cake recipe is a remake of one of my earlier recipes that I posted on Vegan Heartland back in the day when everything was still fine with our country (not that I want to go into politics right now).

The only difference? This time I added a crumbled vegan cookie (tastes so great!).

Here is the introduction from the original post featuring the recipe:

“Guys, it has finally happened. I’ve found humanity’s biggest secret. What do you do if you want to make a chocolate cake in 5 minutes? Just make it a single serving cake. You don’t even have to clean up all the bowls and cutlery afterwards. The original recipe was contained in an otherwise boring cookbook. I saw it and immediately thought: “Wow, I have to try and make this Vegan!” That’s exactly what I did…”

And here are the ingredients, but with a slight twist:


  • 8 tablespoon all purpose flour
  • 8 tablespoon sugar
  • 4 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa
  • 1/2 tablespoon baking powder
  • 5 tablespoon applesauce
  • 1/2 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 5 tablespoon non-dairy milk
  • 1/3 tablespoon vanilla
  • 1 crumbled cookie

Mix together the flour, sugar, cocoa and baking powder. When you have properly mixed everything, it’s time to add in the vinegar, non-dairy milk and applesauce. More mixing and then it’s time to add the crumbled cookie. I prefer to not make the crumbles too small, because then you still have something to chew.

Finally, turn on the microwave (full power) for about 3 minutes. Remember to let it sit for a couple of minutes to allow cooling!
