VH Favorites: Toiletries Edition Part 1

These are a few of my favorite things...brown paper packages tied up with string. Or something like that. So I know I shared some of my favorite things from my favorite website Vegan Essentials, but I thought it would be fun to do a post segment called VH Favorites. I'm hoping this will be helpful to Vegan newbies, or those that don't realize that being Vegan (for me at least) doesn't just mean cutting out some food groups.

All of my product selections are Vegan, meaning they contain no animal ingredients and have not been tested on animals. I tend to use completely all natural stuff as well. I had 14 picks, which I thought was a little much for 1 post, so I'm going to split it up in to 2 posts. If you have any questions, let me know! Enjoy!

Favorite Shampoo and Conditioner

Avalon Organics Clarifying Lemon Shampoo and Conditioner are my picks for favorite Shampoo and Conditioner. They smell so good! No artificial scents here! Plus I think the lemon extracts give me subtle blonde highlights in my hair (at least that's what my stylist says!)

Favorite Body Wash

Avalon Organics Peppermint Bath & Shower Gel is my pick for favorite Body Wash. Just like with my shampoo, I love the smell, especially since it's not artificial! They do make a lemon body wash too that I use sometimes, but peppermint is my favorite! It perks me up in the morning!

Face Wash

Murad Clarifying Cleanser is my pick for favorite face wash. This is one of the products I use that isn't completely natural. I don't usually wash my face with an abrasive soap (like this one) very often. I really only use this one if, for some reason, I'm starting to break out. It's the best products I've found that actually works with my skin. And yes, I've tried so many natural products out there, and they don't work for me.

Favorite Toothpaste

I Love Love Love JASON Powersmile toothpaste. My sister says it tastes horrible, but I have no idea what she's talking about. Crest tastes horrible to me. This really does what it says, it whitens your teeth! I haven't whitened my teeth in years, and they've stayed pearly white! You've got to use this stuff! Plus, it doesn't hurt that there's:
  • No Fluoride
  • No Sulfates
  • No Preservatives
  • No Propylene Glycol
  • No Saccharin
  • No Artificial Flavors or Colors
  • No Animal By-Products or Testing!

Favorite Body Lotion

Nature's Gate Tea Tree Moisturizing Lotion is my pick for favorite body lotion. I tend to have dry skin, especially in the winter time, and this lotion is definitely a skin saver! Plus, can I just say that I love this thing?

Favorite Moisturizer
Alba Sea Moss Moisturizer is my pick for favorite Face Moisturizer. It's not too oil and not too greasy. Plus it has SPF 15 in it to help protect your skin from the sun, which is really important for someone like me with really fair skin.

Watch for Part 2 in a few days!

  1. Love this post! I have also started using natural bath products and it can be tough finding ones that work well. I also use Jason toothpaste (SeaFresh) and Alba Moisturizer - it smells so good! I also use the Alba Sea Moss facewash which feels like it works well, but I've been breaking out a lot lately, so maybe not :-( Another brand I love is Shikai, you can get it at Whole Foods and it's affordable. I use their shower gel and lotion, they have awesome scents. Avalon Organics also makes a nice shave cream. I will totally try their shampoo and conditioner next time. Will keep an eye out for Part 2 of this post!

  3. Hally- Thanks! I've used the Alba face scrub. I loved it! I think I've seen Shikai before too!

twinbbymama- Is Lush that place that has it's own store? I think I saw it at the Mall of America the other day.

  4. I used the Jason scalp balanancing shampoo and condition and the Jason Rosewater Body Wash. I feel like I am in a spa everytime I shower. I highly recommend it.
