I don't know if you guys have ever had Teese's non-dairy cheese made by Chicago Soy Dairy, but it's really really good. It's my second favorite non-dairy cheese after Daiya. Plus they have really cool creamy cheddar cheese that works great for Mac and Teese!
Anyway, Vegan Essentials has now started carrying their mozzerella sticks! I don't how you guys were when you first started becoming vegan, but cheese was my absolute last thing I gave up eating. It was part of a lot of my favorite foods (cheese pizza, grilled cheese, mac and cheese) so it was obviously a hard thing to give up for me. So you have no idea how excited I was to hear that Chicago Soy Dairy started making these. I used to love Mozzerella sticks when I was younger! And they didn't disappoint! I think I overcooked them a little (oops!) but they still tasted absolutely delicious! The breading was crispy and good and the Teese was stretchy and delicious. I would definitely recommend them for those who are longing for cheese from days gone by!
Enjoy everybody! And look for my next recipe update tomorrow!

can't wait for this one! I have to say, my daughter made herself some mozzarella sticks the other day and I was salivating! I don't miss meat, but sometimes do miss the cheese!! This will be great!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm the same as you Lara! I don't miss meat (or eggs) either. Sometimes the smell of them cooking actually makes me sick. But I do sometimes miss cheese!
ReplyDeleteAhhhhh!!!! I think I will be ordering those soon. I actually looked up recipes to make some cheeze sticks and found this one: http://www.vegoftheweek.com/2008/10/14/vegan-fried-mozzarella-cheese-sticks-recipe-its-okay-to-double-dip/
ReplyDeleteHowever, pre-made from Teese is way easier!
That recipe looks great! I just had to try these ones though! They're so quick and easy to make!
